CHICKENFOOT Feeling More 'Comfortable' As New Album Arrives
September 27, 2011CHICKENFOOT releases its second album on Tuesday (September 27),jokingly titled "III". The disc follows up 2009's gold-selling self-titled debut from the group, which features Sammy Hagar on vocals, ex-VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith and guitar wizard Joe Satriani. Hagar told The Pulse Of Radio why he thinks the band members sound "comfortable" playing together on the new record. "I think they're so comfortable 'cause Joe and I got to know each other," he said. "He knows my limitations. He, by working with me in that amount of time we went on tour and that amount of time we spent on the first record, he learned what I'm capable of, 'cause he's that kind of musician. And for me, getting to know him better made him feel more comfortable to present ideas."
"III" features the single "Big Foot".
The band is offering fans a free live concert webcast at its official site on Tuesday night, starting at 9:00 p.m. ET, where they will perform tracks from the new disc and take questions from fans.
CHICKENFOOT will play a short series of U.S. dates to promote the disc, tentatively beginning on November 1 in San Francisco, with additional shows on November 2 in Los Angeles, November 4 in St. Louis, November 5 in Chicago November 8 in New York City.
Venues will be revealed on October 3 when tickets go on sale.
The 2011 Road Test Tour, as the trek is being billed, will feature the first official live performances by the band with drummer Kenny Aronoff, who's filling in for Smith while he hits the road with the CHILI PEPPERS.
